Tradition and future prospects, culture and commerce, waterways and cycle routes – Bremen has a lot to offer.
The CCB is located in the centre of Bremen, close to the historic old town and right next to the spacious Bürgerpark (park of the citizens). There are therefore countless hotels in every price category in the local area – and plenty to experience! Here are our tips for a discovery tour.
Bremen Ratskeller
For over 600 years, the finest German wines, including the oldest cask wine in Germany, have been stored in the vaults of Bremen’s Ratskeller. The labyrinth with its extensive corridors is also known as the ‘delicious foundation’ of Bremen’s town hall and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. Today, Bremer Ratskeller stocks the world’s largest range of German quality and predicate wines – and can be visited on various guided tours.

Town Musicians of Bremen
Donkey, dog, cat and cockerel: every child knows the fairytale stars of the Town Musicians of Bremen. Their statue stands on a corner of the town hall, directly in front of the window of Bremen’s council wine cellar master. And if you throw a coin into a hole in the ground a few metres away, you will be rewarded with a cheeky cock-a-doodle-doo. Or an Iah. Or…
The Böttcherstrasse
A street as an expressionist work of art: just below the market square, the merchant Ludwig Roselius, the inventor of decaffeinated coffee, created an architectural monument with Böttcherstraße. Most of the buildings along the 108-metre-long street were built in the 1920s and have been protected as historical monuments since 1973.

The Bürgerpark
The people of Bremen really appreciate their 200-hectare oasis just behind the exhibition centre. Joggers love the Finnbahn, families the numerous playgrounds, romantics the rowing boats and pleasure-seekers the countless views and vistas that the park offers. It is the perfect place to let your mind wander and relax.
The Rathaus (Town Hall) and the Roland
The over 600-year-old town hall with its Weser Renaissance façade and the Roland statue from the same period are Bremen’s greatest cultural treasures. The ensemble that characterises the market square has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004.

The Schlachte
If you stroll along the Weser promenade, you can reminisce about the days of the Hanseatic League or relax with a delicious drink and do a little people watching – on the Schlachte you can experience Bremen from its maritime side.
The Schnoor
Here, the name says it all: in Bremen’s oldest neighbourhood dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, the quaint, charming houses are strung together like pearls on a ‘Schnoor’, or ‘string’ in High German. A must for tourists!

The Universum® Bremen
If you want to stop real lightning, overcome gravity or outwit your own senses, Universum® Bremen is the right place for you! The Bremen adventure and activity museum attracts visitors with around 300 exhibits on three exciting topics: technology, man, nature.
