LogisticsConnect: Successful debut
Two days filled with expert presentations, panel discussions, and industry networking: the inaugural LogisticsConnect in Bremen, Germany´s only conference and trade fair dedicated to Breakbulk, RoRo, and Heavy Lift logistics, concluded successfully with 40 exhibitors and around 850 participants.
“We are very pleased with the first edition of LogisticsConnect. We succeeded in bringing together leading figures from the logistics sector here in Bremen, laying the foundation to establish LogisticsConnect as a key platform for exchange, knowledge transfer, and future-oriented discussions within the german logistics industry. We have truly connected logistics,” says Gabriele Frey, Project Manager of LogisticsConnect.
Following this promising debut, the second edition of LogisticsConnect will take place on March, 5th to 6th 2026, once again at the Congress Centrum Bremen (CCB). “Bremen now has a new conference and trade fair, and we are committed to developing LogisticsConnect into a thriving event for the future of the industry,” states Hans Peter Schneider, Managing Director of M3B, the event’s organising company.
Logistics as a strategic asset for german economy
A key focus of this year’s event was the vital role of contract logistics and port infrastructure in sustaining Germany´s export-driven economy. Industry leaders and policymakers were engaged in discussions about pressing challenges, including potential tariffs, economic slowdowns, and the ongoing shortage of skilled workers.
“As one of Europe’s most important hubs for project logistics, Bremen plays a central role in the industry. With LogisticsConnect, we have created a new and essential platform to serve this sector. However, we also face significant challenges: disrupted supply chains, geopolitical uncertainties, and labour shortages all have a direct impact on logistics and our ports. To ensure Bremen and the North German seaports remain competitive, we need a modern infrastructure – both digital and physical,” says Kristina Vogt, Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation.
“This includes secure IT systems, as well as investments in road, rail, and waterways. Bremen is advocating at the federal level for reliable port funding, streamlined planning and approval processes, and fair competitive conditions on an international scale. Only with strong ports can we secure the future of our economic location.”
A collective effort for the future of the industry
The LogisticsConnect conference and trade fair was developed in a short timeframe by key industry partners, including BHV – Bremische Hafen- und Logistikvertretung e.V., bremenports, and CONGRESS BREMEN.
“This event sends a clear message: we are tackling market challenges together while showcasing Bremen’s strengths,” says Dr.-Ing. Patrick Drewes, Member of the BHV Presidium.
Robert Howe, Managing Director of bremenports, shares this view: “Packed conference halls and 850 participants at the premiere of LogisticsConnect underline Bremen’s expertise in logistics and breakbulk – and not just because Neustädter Hafen is home to Europe’s largest terminal for breakbulk and heavy cargo. The significance of Bremen’s ports extends far beyond the region, playing a vital national role.”
Positive feedback from exhibitors
The event format – a combined conference and trade fair – was met with approval from exhibitors.
“The open format of LogisticsConnect, which merges a congress with a trade fair, works very well. We received valuable industry insights and had ample opportunities for important discussions with partners and customers. We will definitely return,” says Knut Voigt, Branch Manager of BBC Chartering in Bremen.
